MISSING OFFICER'S RECORD

(0.C.) WHANGAREI, Wednesday. Captain Harding Leaf, who has been reported missing in the Middle East, saw service with the Maori Battalion in the last war. Ho was a member of the Maori Advisory Council of the New Zealand RuglVy Union, a member of the North Auckland Union, and co-manager of the Maori All Black team that toured Fiji a few years ago.

During the years between the two wars Captain Leaf was an official of the Native Department, and worked among the Maoris in Northland. lie was actively associated with the organisation of the Waitangi and Centennial celebration.
