N.Z. ALLIANCE
Attention was drawn to the fact that the New Zealand drink bill amounted to £9,500,000, constituting a record expenditure on liquor during the past year, at the annual conference of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Alliance. The general superintendent stressed the need for drastic restrictions in order to decrease the waste of money on drink and to increase the efficiency of the nation. There was a large attendance of members and delegates from churches, bible classes and temperance societies.
