BY-ELECTION CAMPAIGN

MRS. DREAVER'S CANDIDATURE

The Labour party candidate for the Waitemata seat, Mrs. M. M. Dreaver, advanced her campaign a further stage on Saturday afternoon when she spoke at Silverdale. She was supported by the Minister of Marketing, the Hon. J. G. Barclay. In the evening Mrs. Dreaver and Mr. Barclay addressed a wellattended meeting at Dairy Flat, the latter dealing with the guaranteed price and the rationing of fertilisers.

Mr. Gardner's Meetings

An Independent candidate for the Waitomata seat, Mr. P. R. Gardner, addressed two meetings on Saturday! At Brown's Bay in the afternoon he stressed his advocacy of returned soldiers' interests, and at Bayswater on Saturday evening was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence.
