Leading - Aircraftsman Albert Mahcr. aged 23. <>f Dunedin. was killed instantly when an Airspeed Oxford bomber he was piloting crashed at Halswcll at 10.10 this morning. The sole occupant of the machine, he had just taken ofT on a crosscountry Might when ho crashed. No wftnesses of the accident nave yet been found, although the crash occurred barely half a mile from Wigram. The machine was wrecked, but did not catch fire. Leading-Air-craftsman Maher was undergoing the normal training course. His father. Mr. Michael Maher. lives at .34. France Street, North East Valley, Dunedin.
