WOMAN'S DISTINCTION

The first woman in New Zealand to graduate as a bachelor of agricultural science is Miss Elsie Gertrude Thorpe, aged 22, of Tasman, Nelson. She received her degree at the graduation ceremony, Massey College. Miss Thorpe is a daughter of the Rev. J. H. Thorpe and the i late Mrs. Thorpe. She intends i doing research in the meat and wool industries.
