POPULAR MAYOR
STAFF HONOURS MR. MARTIN
The retiring Mayor of Northcote, Mr. Martin, was farewelled yesterday afternoon by the borough staff. Miss Steward presented him with an illuminated address signed by the whole staff. Mr. Kilham, town clerk, in handing Mr. Martin a gold pencil, expressed the hope that he would enjoy many years of wellearned rest and emphasised the good friendship that had always existed between him and the staff. Miss Steward also presented Mrs. Martin with a suitable gift as a memento of her kindness to the staff.
