DEATH OF MR. F. W. PLATTS
SERVICE IN COOK ISLANDS
(0.C.) HAMILTON, this day. The death occurred this morning of Mr. F. W. Platts, a former Administrator of the Cook Islands, and the present coroner for the Hamilton district.
. Born at Melbourne and educated in Australia and Otaeo, Mr. Platts commenced the practice of law at i or L9J} a , lmers and later at Dunedin. In 1917 he was appointed Administrator of the Cook Islands. After a term of five years he came to Hamilton as Stipendiary Magistrate for the South Auckland district. He was awarded the C.M.G. for his services in the Cook Islands.
_, Retiring from tne Bench in 1937, Mr. Platts acted as coroner for the district. He was also a member of the Hamilton Domain Board. He was a candidate for the Hamilton Borough Council in the recent elections and was thirteenth for 12 seats. He withdrew his candidature for the Auckland Hospital Board on account of ill-health.
