SWORE AT WARDEN

Appearing on summons, before Mr. F. K. Hunt. S.M., in the Police Court, Edward Archibald Mortenson pleaded guilty to a charge of using obscene language. Sub-Inspector Pender said that an E.P.S. warden called at Mortenson's house on the night of April 5 to inform him that a light was showing. Mortenson became abusive and used the language complained of in loud tones. At the time defendant was slightly under the influence of alcohol. On defendant's behalf Mr. F. McCarthy said the warden came around the side of the house and did not knock on the door or identify himself. Defendant had offered to tender an apology. The magistrate imposed a fine of £2.
