OFFICIAL COUNT

PROGRESS AT TOWN HALL MOUNT EOEX DISPLACEMENT The official count of the municipal elections, held in Auckland last Saturday, is nearly finished at the Town Hall, and this morning it was stated that the official result would probably be announced this evening.

The official count at Mount Eden, resulted in Mr. A. Rainey being displaced by Mr. C. W. Hough. On the provisional count. Mr. Rainey. with 2410 votes, was placed ninth on the list of successful candidates, but on the official count this was reduced to 2410, giving him thirteenth position. Mr. Hough had previously been credited with 2354 votes, and placed fourteenth. He gained 66 votes on the recount, and a total of 2420 gave him the twelfth position. At Onehunga. the position is unchanged as the result of the official count.
