FIGHTIXG SERVICES LEAD The fine efforts of some of the Auckland patriotic societies to raise patriotic funds are reflected in the placing of Group 6 Fighting Services and Public Services at the tempwarv head of the seven groups nowtakni part in the Fighting Forces' appeal. The chairman of Group 6 is Cbmmander C. H. T. Palmer, president of the Navy League. The NaW League, Victoria League. Overseas League and Harbour Lights Guild, have so far raised over £1900 by their own efforts, and there has been very valuable assistance given by the Women's National Service Com the R.N.Z.A.F.. the Returned Soldiers' Association, the Penwomen'= Club, the Yugoslav Club and the Dunedin Club. It will also be remembered that the ladies' committee of the Nav League raised the sum of £1255 in ? single day at the Town Hall in aid of the Sick and Wounded Fund Appeal.
