HOSPITAL AUXILIARY
TRIBUTE TO LADY DAVIS Appreciation of the interest taken in the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary by Sir Ernest and Lady Davis during their term as Mayor and Mayoress of Auckland was expressed at the council meeting of the auxiliary. It was stated that Lady Davis had been a keen worker at the inception of the auxiliary 13 years ago. In spite of the many civic duties of the past six years. Lady Davis had retained her interest in the auxiliary and had given generous assistance. Tributes were paid by the president, Mrs. A. D. Campbell Mrs. J. W. Craven, Mrs. Kenneth Gordon, Mrs. Neill, Major A. Gordon Miss Cussen and Miss Basten. The month's report stated that 35 families were assisted with clothing from the hospital depot, and 272 garments were distributed. The city sewing circle had supplied 291 garments to the depot. Outpatients had been assisted with fares and, in cases where advised by ward sisters, extra nourishment was supplied to patients who were being discharged from hospital.
