RESERVE BANK
DEPUTY GOVERNOR MR. t. C. FUSSELL APPOINTED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. Mr. E. C. Fussell has been appointed Deputy-Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, according to an announcement made by the Hon. W. Nash to-day. Mr. Fussell has been with the Reserve Bank since its inception, for the major part of the time as secretry of the bank. Since April, 1939, he has been assistant to the governor. 4 Before coming to the Reserve Bank Mr. Fussell was secretary to the general manager of the National Bank. During the last few years he has had extensive experience overseas, especially in connection with the central banks of the world, including the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, the Federal Reserve banking system of the United States, the Central Bank of Canada, the Bank of England and several European centr?.l banks. "Mr. Fussell." said Mr. Nash, "is a New Zealander well fitted by his disposition and extensive technical experience to hold the position to which he is now appointed."-
