WAR RISK INSURANCE DEFINITION OF PROCEDURE (0.C.) WELLINGTON, this day. When interviewed, the Minister of Marketing, the Hon. J. G. Barclay, referred to the position in regard to war risk insurance on export produce. He said that at the South Auckland Dairy Association's meeting held at Hamilton last week a statement was made that the Australian Government had accepted the risk of insurance on dairy produce in Australia.
However, the true position is that the United Kingdom Government accepts war risk insurance in Australia on exactly the same lines as in New Zealand," said the Minister. ' From the time of shipment of the produce, neither in Australia nor New Zealand, is there war risk insurance on meat or dairy produce prior to shipment. "The dairy industry in Australia is itself considering the introduction of a scheme of its own for butter and cheese to cover war risk whilst the produce is awaiting shipment in this country. The Government is giving early consideration to a general insurance scheme for all primary products."
