ECONOMIST'S WARNING Rec. noon. NEW YORK, May 8. Mr. J. M. Keynes, the noted economist, has arrived to confer with Sir Thomas Phillips and Treasury officials and to study Lease-or-Lend Act problems. He v/arned the United States that its economy would not function if Germany won. He said Germany had succeeded in the prevention of inflation. Britain's present steps vere successful, and it was absolutely essential that the United States also should stop inflationary movements.

At the end of April the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sir Kingsley Wood, requested Mr. Keynes to go to Washington to confer with the United States Administration and the British Supply Council on the operation of the Lease-or-Lend Act and other related matters.
