WAR AND ITS CAUSES.
People will write Tetters tnfl articles on the above and they blame wickedness and sin. political acd trade maladministration and religim or heathenism a≤ separate and «t lective reasons, and presumabh blame the whole world, and you and I in particular, as we are the ones who read their statements. Now I wonder if these people think that the present state of world afl&urs would have taken a different turn if Poland. Slovakia. Norway, Denmark Holland. France. Belgium. England and U.S.A. had really reached tie ideals desired by these -writers. Are we to believe that Germany wouVi have said. 'Oh! We must not invade Poland because they hare not been wicked and we must not touch France because she has such a wor>derful social and economic system."* How ridiculous! We now see that the world in its complacency permitted one nation to arm unlimited iy. In the future we must devise a means to prevent this ever happening again. A nation, the same as an individual, may have area! or fancied grievance, but without aims how can she fight? There must he some rule or law to enforce thii measure and that will be our headache.
