ONE COUNTRY OPEN.
"With the exception of Russia, there now remains very little of Europe that is not under the Nazi shadow. Nearly a dozen European capitals are flying the swastika. Tet one illuminating feature stands out Tn the centre of the swirling madpool of Nazi domination, one little country stands unmolested, free and neutral—Switzerland. Nobody doubts for one minute that if it fitted into Hitler's plans, the Swiss would hare been over-run long ago. Why has he left this small encircled country to continue its own sweet existence, voicing its own opinions, often proBritish. Perhaps we can assume that the Fuehrer, with possibly a sinking heart, recalls the fate of his predecessor, the Kaiser Wilheta. When Germany capitulated in the last war Wi'heim fled to and found refuge ir. and safety. There is a faint (.nance that Hitler visualises a German defeat :n this war. nnri like the srenius he :- in his fanat'cal piottinc-. he has left one country oper. whence he may flee to save his own skin.
