MR. THOMAS CHAPMAN.
The death has occurred of Mr. Thomas Chapman, of Crescent Road, Birkenhead, in hie 67th 3 r ear. Coming to New Zealand in 1898, he had lived for over 40 years at Birke.nhoad. He was employed in the office of the Colonial Sugar Refinery, and for six years was assistant to the Birkenhead town clerk. Mr. Chapman held the position of secretary to the Birkenhead OddfeHows' Lodge for 30 years. For a long period he was choirmaster at the Birkenhaad Methodist Church as well as secretary to the Church Trust and junior circuit steward, until ill-health caused his retirement. He leaves a widow and one eon, Mr. O. C. Chapman, of Point Che.valier.
MR. A. CECIL BALL. (0.C.) DARGA VILLI], this day. The death has occurred of Mr. A. Cecil Ball, a well known resident of Dargaville, at the apre of 03. Coming to New Zealand 29 years ago from Chester, England, ivhere he was a freeman of the city, he eet up in business in Dargaville and retired about four years apro. He was a member of the. Dargaville Borough Council for 13 years and a member of the Druids' Lodge for 26 years. Mr. Ball leaves a widow and two daughtere.
