LAST ELECTION FIGURES
The supplementary roll of electors for voting for Mayor and councillors will close, at o p.m. next Saturday.
The main roll contains 53.578 names compared with 45,870 on the roll at the last municipal election held three years ago.
In 1938 21,133 names were included on the supplementary roll, bringing the total voting strength up to 67,003. So far only a few thousand electors have applied for inclusion on the supplementary roll, officials at the Town Hall saving this morning that enrolment had been proceeding slowly. The number of votes cast at the last mayoral ejection was 42,878. Of these Sir Ernest Davis received 26,176, .T. Sayegh 15,049, J. W. Favne 569. informal 484.
