RUGBY, April 14
British bombers attacked the harbour at Tripoli during last night, savs the R.A.F. Middle East communique. Bombs straddled the Custom House, the power station and shipping, and one large vessel was seen to be burning fiercely.
"In Cyrenaica yesterday both bomber and fighter aircraft of the R.A.F. were employed in dispersing enemy concentrations in various areas. Successful bomb and machine-gun attacks were made on enemy motor transport convoys on the roads between Mans and Solium."
Earlier British reports from Cyrenaica stated that bombers and lighters of the Royal Air Force continued to attack enemy armoured and transport column*. Mechanised units which were led up to attack Tobruk were dispersed.
The Berlin High Command claims the capture of Solium and Fort Capuzzo.
An Italian communique states that the British garrison at Tobruk is still resisting, and is besieged bv Italian troops and continually hammered by the Italian Air Force. The mopping up of prisoners continue*, and the booty i* enormous, adds the communique.
A message from Rome says Uguido Pallato, ex-vice-secretary of. the Fascist student groups, was killed'while fighting in Cyrenaica.
