HOW PANZER DIVISIONS WORK

PERMAN Panzer (armoured) " divisions which smashed through the Greek defences in the attack on Salonika last week possess terrific hitting power. Their armament consists of 450 tanks, 10 150 m.m. howitzers, 20 110 m.m. gun-howitzers, 24 75 m.m. gun-howitzers, 24 80 m.m. mortars, 24 37 m.m. antitank guns, 50 machine gun sections, the guns mounted in pairs as anti-aircraft or anti-tank defences. There is also a regiment of motorised machine gunners and motor cyclists. Panzer divisions work in closest co-operation with bombing squadrons, especially dive bombers, which precede them and blast enemy strongholds. Then the h=avy tanks concentrate at one point, smash through, and out toward the next objective. On the flanks are li«ht tanks and motor cycle machine gunners, with motorised infantry in the rear. Heavy artillery support is given from rear positions, moving forward with the advance.
