j NEW SUPPLY REGULATIONS.

PREVIOUS ORDER REVOKED. A dairy supply order of considerable interest to farmers recently gazetted revokes the provisions made last year with regard to tile supply , of milk or cream to creameries and cheesc fiej torles. 1 Un.-'er a previous order a continuous obligation j was imposed on the occupier of a dairy farm nt his succcrsors to carry on the same type of , farming and supply ir.ilk or cieam produced on i t*r farm to the snme dairy factory as that to •which he delivered his produce in the 1939-40 j season. It whs permissible for him, however, to ; transfer supply to a cheese factory, but If he \ wished to make a substantial reduction In the number of his milking herd, use his land for a | purpose other than dairying, or transfer his supply . from a cheese factory or from one creamery to j another, it was necessary to obtain permission ' from the Dairy Division of the Department of Agriculture. These restrictions are now removed, but the new order provides that 50 long as dairying Is being carried out on any farm a farmtr must deliver all milk or cream to the ehe«*e factory or creamery, as the case may be. to which the supply was delivered during the 1040-41 season. The fact that the same premises are being used both as a creamery and a cheese factory does not enable a supplier to deliver either milk or crtam from his farm as he thinks fit. He must deliver the supply in the same form as that in which it was delivered in the previous season. An occupier who during the 1940-41 season disposed of milk or cream to a creamery is at liberty, however. to deliver his supply to a cheesa factory.
