THE METROPOLE.
The success of the Easier dance carnival at tlie Metropole was evidenced in thft crowded attendance on Saturday night, the versatile musicians contributing in no small measure to the enjoyment of patrons. Many southern visitors were present, and thev expressed their appreciation of the. modern and rhythmic programme, which catered to all tastes.
Mr. Les Williams directed the entertainment, which went with a jolly nwinjr throughout the routine of fox trots, waltzes, valetas, polonaise, iripsv ta p and other favourite dances of old and new rhythm. Two Monte Carlo competitions were special attractions, and Kaster gifts were presented the winners. Refreshments were served in the supper room downstair*. A midniplit dance was also included in the holiday arrangements and was largely attended.
