Biggest Ever?
BOXING TOURNEY. Inter-Services Carnival Planned: Finals in Wellington. (0.C.) WELLINGTON, ihis day. Proliminary arrangements ar« under way for what may well develop into the biggest boxing tournament ever staged in New Zealand. It will involve men of all the defence forces—land, sea and air—at whatever part of the Dominion they may he stationed, reaching a climax in a carnival in Wellington to find the champions.
The initiative lias been taken by the Air Force, which lias received promises of the fullest support from representatives of the Army and Navy, and has been assured also of the full co-opera-tion of the provincial boxing associations and the Mew Zealand Council. A meeting will be held in Wellington shortly, at which representatives of the three services will discuss the matter with a view to establishing ' a central organising committee in Wellington. Any profit from the tourney will go to the patriotic fluids.
