VICTORIA'S CUP DAY.

Casey Cup to Winifred—Rae Cup to Riptide—Quiver Wins Boonstra Cup—Shalimar the Ryan Cup—Pat C the Roongana Cup. The Victoria Cruising Club held their "Cup" races this afternoon in dull weather with a very light westerly at the start, which backed at 3 p.m. to the north and held light but steady for the rest of the afternoon. There was keen competition in the combined 14-foot classes. T, X and Y. for the Boonstra Memorial and the Bill Ryan Cups. Quiver won the Boonstra and Shalimar. beating the field of 20 boats home by 3m 3s, got the gun in the 14footers to win the Bill Ryan Cup easily. There was a close contest in the combined M. V and S class for the Robert Rae Cup, a former commodore and secretary of the Victoria Club. Kiatere. again wen sailed by • Brushcr" Webb, of Devonport, got the gun from Riptide by lm 535, but Bern. Schmidt, skipper of Riptide, won the cup by a good margin. The Z class was well contested with 12 starters. Jack Tupp, sailing Pat C., skilfully led all the way to get the gun by lm 47s from Te Utu and won the Roongana Cup easily. THE FINISHING TIMES. M.
