SENIOR CHAPLAIN.
N.Z. HOSPITAL SHIP
THE REV. H. K. VICKERY. Retaining his naval rank as chaplain to the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, the Rev. FT. K. Vickery, well-known as port chaplain for the Missions to Seamen at Auckland for the past 13 years, lias been appointed senior chaplain on the Xew Zealand hospital ship Maunganiii. He will report for duty at Trentham Camp on April 5.
• With the exception of bis term of active service as a stretcher-bearer with the Australian forces on CJa.llipoll, Mr. Vickery has been connected with the work of the Missions to Seamen for the past 32 years. On his return from Gallipoli he \vas appointed chaplain to the Australian military fortes.
.. At the present time Mr. Vickery is chaplain to several men's organisations in the city and is an honorary member of the Xew Zealand Company of Master Mariners. In 1935 he was made a Chevalier of the Legion of Honour for his work on behalf of various French naval uuitn.
Leave of absence to enable Mr. Viekery to take iij) liis appointment lias been graiited by the board of the Missions to Seamen and arrangements have been made for the continuation of the work of the Missions to Seamen durin« his absence. P
