THE METROPOLE.
Modern dances varied with modifications of old-time dances kept the programme at a brisk pace at the Metropole on Saturday night, the band under Lew Jonee' leadership excelling in effective interpretations. Among the feature numbers was "Fantasy," supplemented with artistic instrumental specialities, while popular airs were rendered with a gaiety that won enthusiastic response from the dancers. The diversity of the entertainment ensured enjoyment for all and with foxtrots, quicksteps, rhumbas, the poloneiee, gipsy tap, maxina and other rhythmic favourites, a merry atmosphere was created for the dancera.
