TERRITORIAL UNITS.
TRAINING POSTPONED. Tlio training of men re(juired for Territorial Force units as reinforcements and to make up shortages due to personnel being called for service in the Kxpeditionary Force, to have commenced on April 1, has been deferred for a month. Under the new scheme of training announced last week, single men of 1!> years and those from 41 to 4.~>, as well as single men from 20 to 4.~>. who have been classed as grade 1A and 2, arc to be called to lill vacancies in the Territorial Force. Married men with up to three dependent children are to be accepted on a voluntary basis. On being mobilised the men are to lie sent to a depot camp to be established and at the conclusion of the first month's training, which is to be identical for all recruits, the men are to be posted to various arms of the service and units, it is understood that unit eairips are to be arranged throughout the district. The depot camp will train men as they are called for service, so that there may be an even flow to units. Many units of the Territorial Force, it is stated, are below strength, and cases liave been reported, where some regiments were not up to full strength even during the period of intensive training last year.
