FIT MEN IN CITY AREA.
The medical examination of men called in the second overseas ballot published on March 5 was completed in No. 1 (Auckland) Area this week, and of the 2957 available 1158 were found to be St for service in the Expeditionary Force. The ballot figures indicated that 2084 had been called in the city area, but this number was reduced to 2957 as the result of transfers to other districts. The temporarily unfit numbered 1095, 160 were classed as permanently unfit, and the examination of 147 was deferred for various reasons, chief among which was the fact that the men had volunteered lor 'naval and air force service.
