Friendly Relations Between Britain And Turkey. EDEN'S FAREWELL MESSAGE. British Official .Wireless. (Reed. 2 p.m.) RUGBY, Mar. 2. Mr. Anthony Eden, British Foreign Minister, who left Ankara with General Sir John Dill on Friday night, sent a message to M. Saracoglu, Turkish Foreign Minister. According to the Ankara radio, the message read: 'My warmest thanks and those of General Sir John Dill for the kind reception accorded to us. which so manifestly brings into clear relief the ties of deep friendship existing between the Turkish and the British nations. I want also to express our gratitude to the President, the Government and the nation. I Jiave been greatly impressed. All I have seen of the modern Turks, the unity of purpose of the Turkish nation, the eftteieiwy of the army, and the beauty of Ankara, especially the spirit of sacrifice of the whole nation, has struck me as admirable. The President's inspiring administration is undoubtedly directly responsible. Britain feels rightly proud of her alliance with Turkey." Mr. Eden and General Dill weTe given an enthusiastic send off.
