Russell (2.1), of Boundary; Road, Paddington. wrote a note sayingl she had no desire to live, because the| man she was living with was in lovej with another woman. I This was revealed at the inquest yesterday, at which the coroner (Mr. Oram) returned n verdict of suicide. Miss Russell died in St. Vincent's Hospital on January 1-1. James Roy, barman, of West Street, Paddington. said in evidence that he lived with Miss Russell before her death-
On the night of January 13 Miss Russell became annoyed because lie had spoken 111> Mrs. Mary Ann t.'ott erill. who lived! in the same house. When he woke the next morning Miss Rust-ell told him she had taken poison. Tho note which Roy said he found under the pillow read: 'Mini, if I should :die to-night it is simply because I can- | not stand it any longer. Since Ann; (Airs. Cotterill) lias come to live here! we have quarrelled all the time. When . you came home to-niglit you only stayed ;for a few minutes, then rushed to Ann. ;|You have been after her ever since >he 'jcame to live here. Do you think I have ■[no feelings at all? Tt certainly appears Ito he that way. Why did you lie when Ann first came here, my saying she was your sister? I know now, Jim, that , she is the one you care for. and not me.
