TENNIS TOURNEY. Semi-final Results — Two Sections Played. Fine weather has favoured the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association in the conduct of the nineteenth annual handicap tournament, which entered its closing stages today. This morning an early start enabled the committee to complete the men's semi-finals and deal with the A and B sections, which are nearing completion. _ It is expected that the tournament will be finalised late this afternoon. Results of this morning's play were:— A GRADE. HEN'S SINGLES. • Semi-finals. J. C. Rogan beat B. Broun. 7—5. 8—1; W. T. Fountney beat H. W. Smith. 6 —4. 6 —2. MIXED DOUBLES. Quarter-finals. W. T. Pountney and Miss J. Howard beat B. Broun and Miss E. Howard. 6—l. 6—3. B GRADE. MEN'S SINGLES. Second Round. D. A. Beams beat R. Skeen. 6—3. 3—B. 6—l. MIXED DOUBLES. Quarter-final. R. E. Scott and Miss E. Howard beat L. F. Kenna and Mrs. Turgls, 6—l, S—6. 6—2: D. A. Beams and Miss J. Howard beat C. W. Beresford and Miss P. Protheroe. 6—4. 5—6, 6—l.
