ANNUAL MEETING.

GROWTH IN MEMBERSHIP.

Held at the Amateur Operatic Hall, which war. crowded with members of the Women's Xational Service Corps (New Zealand", the tirst annual report was presented at a meeting last night Miss D. M. Hawkins, Chief Commandant, presided.

The work of the corps is growing and the work is good," said Miss. Hawkins in a brief address. "This is due to the >pirit put into the corps' activities by all. Tlie co-operation has been splendid.'' Miss Hawkins paid tribute to the members on the way they had continually put duty before pleasure.

The annual report, presented by the second in command, Mrs. D. L. Edmonds, stated that the membership of the corps now stood at 423 with a further waiting lUt of .MX). Brief accounts of the work of the transport, clerical, canteen, signalling. cooking anil cycling units were each disclosing that the corps had contributed practical help in patriotic work. The treasurer's report showed that the finances of the corps were in a sound condition, there being a credit balance of ft."). The election of officers, X.C.O.'s and volunteer representatives resulted as follows:—Chief commandant, Miss D. M, Hawkins; second in command, Mrs. D. L. Edmonds; adjutant, Mrs. M. E. Drabble; company commanders, (A) Mrs. N. I. Dagg, (B) Miss P. Boult, (C) Mrs. D. S. Masson; X.C.O.'s (A) Miss X. Wynyard, (B) Mrs. C. Gallery, (C) Miss Z. Husband; volunteers (A) Miss A. Keinsly, (B) Miss F. Baker, and (C) Mrs. Da vies. It was announced that arrangements had been made for the corps to go into the military camp at Avondale from December 29 to January 10.
