Beef.—Ox beef was yarded in small numbers. Competition was keen and a very firm sale resulted. Knr an average entry of cow and heifer beef the demand was good and values ruled firm 011 late rates. Kxtr.i choice ox sold to 39/ per 1001b; choice and prime ox. 35/ to 38/; ordinary and plain, 32' to .34 : extra prime young cow aml heiier beet. 30/ to 34, : choice and prime. 27/ to 29': ordinary cow beef, 22' to 26'. Extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £14 10/ to £15 2/6; heavy prime steers, £13 10/ to £14 2.6; lighter, £12 5/ to £13 2/6; light, £11 10/ to £12; small and unfinished, £9 to £10 13/. Kxtra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £10 to £11 5/: heavv prime cowg and ■heifers. £8 to £9; lighter. £6 10/ to £7. 10/; other killable cows, £4110/ to £&
