Members of the Northern Hiamee enbpjrovincial executive of the Farmere , Union at its meeting *t Trainee yesterdayviewed with alarm the writing up of etook values for taxation purposes.
A remit on the strtjeefc was introduced by the Netherton branch, winch stated that it, considered the taxing of the increase ae tantamount to a capital levy. It urged the union to resist the imposition. The remit wae carried. •
A further remit - from the Nethert on branch dealt with the alleged intention of some trade union* to urge the Government to introduce Friday night and Saturday morning closing of shops. The •branch held that euch a echeme would be an injustice to the buying public and the farming community, as the latter did most of their ehoppi»g daring the houre mentioned. '-;■[. ' ' - i 1
