FOURTH REINFORCEMENTS
AUCKIdUTOERS GO TO GAMP.
Auckland members of the Fourtk Reinforcements are now going to camp. A party of 128, bound for Burnham, Canterbury, marched through. tie eity at 11 p.m. last night before entraining. In spite of the lateness of the hour they were accompanied by a large number of friends and relative's. A further 160 men from South Auckland were «- jMH-ted to join the train at Fraiktoa. This evening another bodv of mai will leave for Trentham, and to-morrow ■»■ for Papakura will go into camp.
FACILITIES AT CAMPS.
RECREATION REQ
To provide recreation for soldier* im the various camps, the Auckland Metropolitan Patriotic Committee decided it a meeting la°t evening to authorise tfc* expenditure of £520. A sum of £100 it* been set aside for summer requirements, and it was stated that the swimming bath at Papakura would be ready in November. Additional grants were made for cricket pitches at Papakura and Whcnuapai. Three boats, estimated t* cost £30, will be provided, and tw* marching drums have been supplied for an artillery regiment. TAKAPUNA'S GIFT. Residents of the Takapuna district contributed £303 12/ to the aeroplane fund appeal made by the Mayor of Takapuna, which has recently been closed. The money will be forwarded to the Prime Minister, the Kt. Hon. PFraser.
