BROADWAY FATALITY.

MARRTT.D WOMAN'S DEATH.

Death from injuries received when knocked down by a motor van in Broadway on July 2 was the finding of the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, to-day at an inqeeet into the death of Charlotte Collins, a married woman, aged 59, who resided at 122, Bassett Road, Remuern.

The evidence showed that on July 2 Ernest Francis Berridge was backing his van intending to park it in Broadway, when he heard a scream. He then went forward a few yards and found that the deceased had been knocked down and run over while he wae backing the van. Deceased died in the Auckland Hospital next day. Berridge wae subsequently charged in the Magistrate's Court with negligently driving so as to cause death, the charge being diemueed.
