TAKAPUNA WATER.
I am completely bewildered by "flb article recently published in the "Star* or. the Takapuna water supply. It seems incredible that the people of Tales puna and Xorfhcote hare bees forced to undergo such conditions for rears. A statement on this subject U long: overdue, and as an alternative to th»s wretched supply T would like to offer a ruggestion to all concerned. How many people in Takapuna know tiat there is a Sin pipe containing WautiM * sparkling clear water from laid on rijrht in the borouprh of Takapuna? Why do not the people of Taiapuna link H" with this beautiful supply and settle . heir troubles for ail Gmras Birkenhead did? Surely the ratepayer! are not goiiyr to worry about *1« ; of revenue. The thousands of pound* they have paid. in the past would te better paid to the Auckland CSty CotmcF for a permanent supply of iheautifu water. So in conclusion I lope His suggestion will not be beyond the eonp~es .?f the official mind. ATI I can *ay about it is thank jroodness we are not supplied from Lake Pupuke as we were formerly.
