RAILWAYMEN PROTEST.

HOSPITAL BOARD

A protest against a statement made by the chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, Mr. Allan Moody, was made at a meeting of the Helensville branch oc the New Zealand Locomotive Engineers, firemen and Cleaners* Association, the following resolution being carried by members:—"Hie members of this branch strongly protest against the utterance of the chairmen of the Auckland Hospital Board to the effect that he would • make all workers work until they dropped. We consider that a person holding such views is not a fit and proper person to hold a responsible position, and that Mr. Moody's resignation should be demanded. We are of the opjnion that the Government should publicly denounce snch sentiments as not in the best interest of the country."
