KING'S BIRTHDAY.

STATUTORY HOLIDAY. MONDAY, NOVEMBER 25. WELLINGTON*, Thursday. The King's Birthday will this year be observed on Monday, November 25. according to an Amendment of the King's Birthday Emergency Regulations, 1940. which was published in to-night's "Gazette." It is also provided that the day will be observed af. a statutory holiday.—(Press Assn.) In normal circumstances the King's Birthday would have been observed this year on Monday, June 3, but in view of the urgent need for increased production in many industries owing to the war situation the Government decided that the holiday should be postponed.
