COLONY REBELS.

FRENCH ADMISSION. Other Regions May Follow Chad Territory. United Prese Association.—Copyright. (Reed. 2 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 28. A message from Vichy states that the Petain-Laval Government has confirmed the outbreak of a "Britishinspired rebellion" in France's African Empire. It was stated that a revolt had broken out in French East Africa but "all necessary steps have been taken to localise the situation." It was officially declared that the situation arose when the Chad military governor, Colonel Delarima, went to British West Africa after making contact with General De Gaulle, for the incitement of the Chad population to rebellion. It was not made clear whether the Chad rebellion had spread to other regions.
