OBITUARY.

MR. R. IFWERSEN. The death has occurred at Whakatane of Mr. Roy Ifwersen, a herd teeter for the Government. Mr. Ifwersen, who was aged 44, left New Zealand with the fighting forcee during the last war at the age of 18. * J Born in Auckland Mr. Ifwersen was the son of the late Mrl E. C. Ifwersen and Mrs. Ifwersen, Parnell. After attending the Grafton school, he engaged in farming at Papakura until the outbreak of war. After his return he took up land at Ramarama and farmed for some years until he left to study at Massey College. Some eight years ago he was appointed a Government herd tester and has since been stationed at Whakatane. Mr. Ifwersen was not married. MR. RUSSELL KNOX. Well known in Auckland business circles, Mr. Russell Knox, of 47, Marau Crescent, Kohimarama, has died, aged 68. Mr. Knox left Scotland some 57 years ago on the ship Wild Deer, which was wrecked off the coast of Ireland. After nine monthe , delay he eventually sailed in the Tongariro. After landing at Lyttelton Mr. Knox came to Auckland, and except for a world tour made four years ago, had lived in Auckland until his death. He was associated with the old-estab-lished firm of George McCaul, Limited, and after the death of Mr. McCaul succeeded to the business. He is survived by his wife and three daughters.
