GREY AND MENZIES, LTD. «}J2s*i J nere S*">< c*»te of imported raw materials and other goods, with higher taxation and rising wagee, trading was becoming more difficult, said Mr. T B Clay, chairman of directors of Grey and M«nai«, Limited, at the company'e annual meeting yesterday. With good weather and normal spending, the company hoped to carry some of those extra costs and still maintain a measure of prosperity. ■ During the year, the chairman added, the company had opened a branch at iUitaia, which had been previously serviced from Whangarei. Hβ was satisfied with the position of the subsidiary company, whose finances permitted a small dividend to be paid. TKe dividend proposed for the parent company, 7 per cent on both ordinary and V JofZ en i 6 f h » res ' wa « confirmed, and £2000 placed to reserves. The company'e balance-sheet was reviewed in the "Star" on August 21. Messrs. W. Eddowes and A. 5. Menzies were re-elected to the directorate
