SOCCER CONTROL.

REPORT TO BOARD OF TWO AUCKLAND VICTORIES. SCHOOLS , TOURNEY. The members of the control board of the Auckland Football Association had the pleasure last night of receiving a report from Mr. W. H. Martin on two victories 'by Auckland secondary schools' representatives at New Plymouth. He etated that the seniors' had regained the Skerrett Cup, 'by defeating Wellington 4 —2 in the final, while the juniors had stalled off, 2—o, a challenge by Taranaki for the Herbert Smith Truet Cup.

The deputy chairman, Mr. H. Qrlbble, commented .upon the fine feat of the Auckland players in winning both cups and aleo referred to. the high standard of play in both the secondary and primary schools' tournaments.

It was agreed to piny the secondary schools' match for the Herbert Smith Trust Cup, between the Hawke'e Bay and Auckland junior representatives, at 12.30 p.m. at Blandford Park-next Saturday.

The report of the northern section of the North Island primary schools' tourney, held in Auckland last week, showed that in the senior section for' the Fordham Shield two teams finished level, and a replay between Normal and Marine Suburbs would be necessary. .

The length of times occupied by curtainraiser games at,Blandford Park formed the subject of a report ttom the senior division committee, which etated that it had resolved that two even spells should be played, and, if the referee intended to limit the time to less than 90 minutes he should inform the captains of -each .side before play commenced. .The board decided to enforce the late 'starting rule, and decided that the early game muet be divided into two equal spells, to finish before the advertised time of starting the main contest.
