DRASTIC PENALTY.
THAMES UNION'S DECISION. THAMES, this day. As a sequel to a scene in the dressing ehed at Rhodes Park Rugby ground a fortnight ago, the Thames Union management committee has debarred W. Heappy from playing Rugby for the term of three years, in addition to a penalty of one year previously inflicted on him. He was also "warned off" any ground under the jurisdiction of the Thames Rugby Union for the duration of the total term. Heappy was dealt with about a month ago, after being ordered oil the field for disputing a referee's decision and using insulting remarke. The union had issued a warning in connection with a case prior to this, that the next offender would be dealt with, severely. In consequence Heappy was debarred from playing for the rest of the season.
