THEFTS FROM CARS.
TWO MEN SENTENCED.
WELLINGTON, this day.
Detention in a Borstal institute for two years was the sentence imposed by Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court to-day on Clifford Her.bert Denham, aged 1!), lon v driver, wlio 'had been previously convicted on eight charges of stealing goods from ears. A similar sentence was imposed 011 Clarencs Sigurd Pearson, aged 20, a soldier, who had been convicted on three charges of stealing tools from ears.
The magistrate said that Denliam had been convicted on eight different offences of having in hi., possession goods stolen from eight different cars, which were found damaged, tliree of them being run ■into the sea.— (Press Assn.)
