MOTHER'S PLEA.

WANTS HOUSE TO RENT. FAMILY LIVE IN ONE ROOM. An example of hardship in which the mother of seven children is tramping the streets trying to find a house to rent was revealed to-day when Mrs. E. Dixon, of Blockhouse Bay, told a "Star" reporter that she and her family were in the meantime obliged to live in one room. Her husband, unable to find work in Auckland at present, is working at Dargaville. Though there appeared to be many houses for sale, she stated, she could not find one to let. "I have excellent references," she said, "and my three appeals to the State for consideration have not done any good." Mrs. Dixon added that the eldest of her children was 16, and the youngest three years old.
