PACIFIC HONEYMOON
COUPLE FOR SAN FRANCISCO.
A honeymoon couple—the first tr. be carried on the South Pacific run —will travel from Auckland to San Francisco by the Pan-American Clipper on August 17.
The couple, who are to be married on Saturday, August 10, at St. Mary's Cathedral, are Miss Cathella Holmes, daughter of the late Captain R. G. Holmes and Mrs. R. Holmes, of Waitca Street, Parnell, and Mr. Franklin Hull, chief mechanic at Pan-American's Auckland base.
Miss Holmes lias t)een to 'Frisco before—once by sail in 1922 with her father in the old barque Manurewa,. a r .c' recently by steamer. She will probably be the first woman to fly to San Francisco from Auckland. Mrs. Harold Catty pioneered the San Francisco-AlcK land trip for women recently. Mr. Hull, who is an American, has been in Auckland for a year, and has been transferred to San Francisco, but expects after a time there to be shifted to another of the compinT'g bases.
