APPEAL TO RETU.BIIJBP KEN. An appeal to p-liysicahy fit returned soldiers to join Class 11. of the Xational Military Reserve, in order to bring tlie Auckland Fortress Battalion up tr» strength, was made by the president of the Auckland Returned Soldiers* Association, Mr. J. W. Kendall, at the quarterly meeting last evening. - Reference was made to the fact that it was proposed to form an auxiliary reserve of ex-servicemen who were not able to pass the medical examination for Class IL In a report, the president stated that the men required for tlie fortress unit were for heavy machine guns and trcnch mortars.
