NAZI BOMBS WRECK SCHOOL IN BRITAIN.

An enemy 'plane dropped ten bombs in a densely populated part of a north-west town. Four were aimed at a school, which was wrecked. Nearby houses were considerably damaged, but it is believed that the only casualties were four adults killed, one of which was a school teacher, who brought evacuated children from South Shields a fortnight ago. Nine members of a household in a Welsh town were hurrying to an A.8..P. shelter when a bomb exploded a fewfeet away. It blew them into the shelter. The. only casualty was one injured. A member of the Home Guard captured three members of the crew of a Dornier, which a Hurricane shot down. Sheltered Under Bed. Two old-age. pensioners heard a salvo of screaming bombs falling on their town in south-west England and scrambled under the bed. A bomb blew in the wall of the house and buried them under t\e debris, but they were not hurt. A 50-year-old woman and a four-year-old boy were killed and six injured in nearby" houses. The raiders visited the town three times during the day. Knernv 'planes at night dropped bomb* on isolated districts in England and Wales and also on a district in the fouth-west. There were some casualties, but only slight damage was done. Girl Killed in Raid. Five were killed in a town in northwest England. Casualties in a southwest England town included * girl killed.
Three bombs on % north-east England town damaged a small factory, a email hotel and a dwelling house, causing only minor casualties. Sleepers in the hotel were buried under several feet of debris. All were extricated by the local demolition squad.
Fifteen bombs fell on a Welsh town. Many houses were damaged and a few people injured.
It is officially stated that one enemy bomber and one fighter were shot down off the English coast to-day. Four of our fighters are missing after yesterday's engagement.
