AUCKLAND-ROTORUA.
PARTIAL RESTORATION
SERVICE FROM HAMILTON.
Following further inquiries on the part of the No. 1 Licensing Authority regarding the question of road passenger transport between Auckland, Hamilton and Rotorua, the Authority has now decided to amend the existing license to provide for a <.30 a.m. trip daily from Auckland to Rotorua and a return trip from Rotorua, departing at 3.15 p.m.
In addition the Authority has decided to approve a trip from Rotorua from Mondays to Saturdays, departing at 7 a.m. and connecting with the fast passenger train leaving Frankton at 9.35 a.m., and arriving at Auckland at 1.37 p.m. A trip has also been approved from Frankton Junction to Rotorua from Mondays to Saturdays. This service will connect at Frankton with the 3 p.m. Auckland-Wellington express, and will leave Frankton at 5.45 p.m., Hamilton l> p.m., arriving at Rotorua at 8.30 p.m. <
The Authority stated that as previously explained, the whole question of the curtailment of trips of this nature is one which requires careful investigation, and the arrangement now made will apply only until the end of the present month, when the position will again be reviewed. The Authority ]>oints out that no decision has previously been given in regard to the New Zen land Government services over this route, although it was apparent that the matter was receiving tho attention of the Authority.
